Video endpoint setup
Preface
This guide describes how to prepare your Cisco video endpoint for connection to the Atea Anywhere cloud service.
If the video endpoint is installed by a local integrator, please forward this guide to the technician.
Prerequisites
- Recieved welcome e-mail with configuration commands and Anywhere account credentials received from ATEA.
- Video endpoint connected to the local network.
- Video endpoint connected to an external screen (if not built in)
- PC with a web browser connected to the same network as the Video Endpoint
- Firewall has been opened according to our firewall document
Video Endpoint Software
Atea Recommends installing the latest software version on the video endpoint. This ensures that your system is set up with the latest security features and functionality. A valid software contract is required to obtain software from Cisco. Contact your Atea Sales Representative for help.
Current software restrictions
- Cisco touch 8 does not support CE sofware. To utilize the latest CE software, touch 10 is required.
- Cisco Telepresence touch 8
- Cisco Telepresence touch 10
- Cisco Telepresence touch 8
- Cisco TRC5 remote control does not support CE sofware. To utilize the latest CE software, TRC6 remote control is required.
- TRC5 remote (left) and TRC6 remote (right)
- TRC5 remote (left) and TRC6 remote (right)
- Oldest recommended software for ATEA Anywhere phone book service is TC 7.3.15
Configure Network and Firewall
The Video endpoints are shipped with DHCP enabled as default.
In certain scenarios Static IP may be preferred: for example, when installing the video endpoint with a desk top Cisco Touch Panel both units require an IP on the same network segment to communicate.
Ensure that your firewall is configured to support the required ports for the service to work. For customers accessing Atea Anywhere over internet (No WAN) you likely do not have to change anything. For more info see support page at https://host.anywhere.vc/support.

Video Endpoint Configuration
1. Obtain the IP address of your Cisco video endpoint. You can find it the settings menu. The menus might look different depending on which software version you are using, and if you are using touch panel or remote control.
Typically you can locate the IP either on the first startup screen, or in the menu under “Settings – System Information” on your system.
2. The configuration commands can be uploaded to the video endpoint with two different methods: Web interface or command line with an SSH client.
The most user-friendly is to use the web interface.
It is important that your PC is on the same network as your video endpoint.
Configuration template
This is the config that is used for Cisco videosystems to register on Atea Anywhere. Note that you might need to specify your own DNS servers if you are not using public Google DNS.

Method 1 - Upload config via Web-interface
1. Type https:// followed by the IP address found in previous step into the web browser and press enter:
2. Log in with the endpoint credentials.
The factory default credentials:

2. Fill in the IP address and port 22

You might have to press enter for the very last config line to run.
Your video endpoint should now be configured. You can close Putty.
Test the video endpoint
1. Test outbound calls from the video endpoint to a valid video address.
2. Test if it can receive incoming calls from another video system
3. Test presentation and see if everything works as expected
Phone book setup
If the phone book does not appear then you might need to add the phone book CA certificate:
